We are hiring up to twenty (20) Seasonal Parks Workers – Turf for the upcoming 2026 season:
- Twenty (20) positions: May 4, 2026 – August 28, 2026
Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Position Summary:
As a Seasonal Parks Worker you will be responsible for assisting in the overall upkeep and maintenance of city parks, sports fields, green spaces and playgrounds.
Key Accountabilities:
- Taking daily directions and training from your seasonal crew leader.
- Mowing, trimming, blowing, raking, weeding, pruning trees, mulching garden beds and other duties as assigned.
- Operating trucks, mowers, trimmers, tractors, blowers, hand tools and other equipment.
- Reporting any broken or faulty equipment or infrastructure to your seasonal crew leader.
- Assist other departments or employees as needed.
- Ensure the duties and responsibilities as outlined are completed in the most efficient, effective and safe manner.
- Perform minor equipment servicing and greasing, keep vehicles and equipment clean daily, report any damage or issues promptly.
- Responsible for using confidential information appropriately and maintaining the confidentiality and security of all information related to the city.

10. Other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Experience performing duties in parks, golf or landscaping environment is considered an asset.
- Experience operating and maintaining equipment is considered an asset.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and no current charges or suspension pending is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in written form.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to multi-task and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
- Physically able to perform required duties.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience operating equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Standard First Aid CPR/AED or the ability to obtain within first 30 days of employment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding duties, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires physically demanding work in all types of weather conditions.

Compensation: Pay Grade will be determined by position placement.
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour.
