Position Summary:

 

The City of Chestermere is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to serve as the Returning Officer for the upcoming 2025 Municipal Election. This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity and smooth operation of the election process.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the election process, including nomination, voting, and ballot counting.
  • Plan and refine the logistics of the election in conjunction with City administration.
  • Ensure compliance with the Local Authorities Election Act and other relevant legislation.
  • Coordinate with election staff and volunteers.
  • Manage election materials and secure voting locations.
  • Address inquiries from candidates and voters.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with election laws and procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Previous experience in election administration is preferred.
