Position Summary:
The City of Chestermere is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to serve as the Returning Officer for the upcoming 2025 Municipal Election. This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity and smooth operation of the election process.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the election process, including nomination, voting, and ballot counting.
- Plan and refine the logistics of the election in conjunction with City administration.
- Ensure compliance with the Local Authorities Election Act and other relevant legislation.
- Coordinate with election staff and volunteers.
- Manage election materials and secure voting locations.
- Address inquiries from candidates and voters.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with election laws and procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Previous experience in election administration is preferred.
